Solid wood flooring

Hardwood remains a safe bet, evolving to suit our contemporary interiors and adding real value to our homes. It provides insulation and air purification to your interior, not to mention its long lifespan. Solid hardwood is renowned for its durability. Since it is very strong, it can be sanded and refinished multiple times throughout its life. The durability of solid hardwood mainly depends on the wood species and its resistance to wear of its protective finish.

Floating floor

3 Names, 1 Floor: Laminate, Laminated, Floating! The term 'floating floor,' now the most commonly used, comes from its installation method, where the boards are connected to each other via a click system, without the need for floor fixation. Laminate flooring is an excellent substitute for real hardwood flooring. It is economical, can mimic the look of more expensive flooring materials like hardwood or stone, and is considerably more durable than hardwood. It resists stains, is easy to install, and is perfect for high-traffic areas. The so-called 'laminate' floor is composed of various layers of recycled natural products (wood chips) or synthetic materials (melamine resin) fused under pressure. The top layer is a photographic print that mimics wood and sometimes even stone.

Engineered wood flooring

Many hardwood buyers may not realize that there are two types of wood: solid wood and engineered wood. Certain features, such as very wide planks, are often offered for engineered wood. It can be a good choice if you're looking for a thinner wood to install in an existing space; for example, if you need to install a floor covering that's the same height as an adjacent floor. Engineered woods can be sanded and refinished depending on the chosen platform. If durability is a concern due to moisture or temperature issues, engineered wood is the preferred solution. This type of flooring has a layered construction that ensures stability in varying ambient conditions. They also offer several installation options: staples, glue, floating.

Vinyl flooring

Vinyl flooring offers great water resistance, durability, and is an attractive option for high-traffic areas. Since its production costs are lower, vinyl is generally a more affordable option than natural materials. They are wear-resistant, making them perfect flooring choices for families with children or pets. Compared to laminate, vinyl flooring is the better choice in terms of its superior moisture resistance. Vinyl floors can also be installed over wood, concrete, or existing tile coverings, making them a simplified addition to any space or renovation project.
